I can’t speak for mad dogs, but after 13 years in this country, I’ve figured out why Englishmen go out in the midday sun. They have to enjoy every fleeting moment of sunshine because if the sun comes out at noon, it might be raining, or worse, by 12:17 p.m.
But not this summer.
This glorious summer has been sunny and hot.
For weeks on end.
Highly unusual, but very welcome, especially after the wash out of last “summer.”
So I’ve been spending a lot of time outside.
And not blogging.
I’m going back to Canada tomorrow for the rest of the summer and won’t be blogging some more.
And yes, after six weeks of silence, I’m posting to alert you to the arrival of further silence.
Just so we’re clear.
